Solvent-based lacquer for a tough, glossy surface
Watco Concrete Sealer Solvent Based is a hard wearing, moisture cured, solvent based, polyurethane lacquer. It is most suited for use in internal heavily trafficked areas, such as workshops, garages, warehouses, distribution units and production areas where a durable clear sealer is required.
Concrete Sealer Solvent Based is a solvent based product and should therefore only be used in well ventilated areas. This tough, smooth, glossy lacquer is both scratch and abrasion resistant and easy to keep clean. If slip resistance is important, use instead Watco Protecta-Coat Anti Slip, a clear, heavy duty, two pack, polyaspartic resin which can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Concrete Sealer Solvent Based is quick drying. Two coats can be applied within 6 hours and it will resist heavy traffic after just 24 hours, so downtime is minimal.

Bare concrete – A good sweep and/or vacuum is often sufficient on a dusty surface. For the removal of dirt, light oil and grease we recommend Watco Bio-D. Flush with clean water and allow the surface to dry. For heavier deposits, Watco Concroff, a very powerful degreaser, is recommended, again, flush with clean water and allow the surface to dry. Concrete Sealer Solvent Based must be applied to a dry surface.
New concrete – as a guide, new concrete should be left for 8 weeks to dry. Surface laitance should be removed by means of mechanical abrasion. If the surface is dirty, please clean as per the heading ‘Bare concrete’.
Priming – is not usually required, but for open textured, or very porous high suction surfaces, such as sand and cement screed, further coats may be required to seal the substrate and to provide a uniform finish. Do not use on very smooth or power floated concrete, instead use Watco Powerfloat Sealer.
Ensure the substrate is completely dry. Best results are obtained in warm conditions (minimum air temperature of 15°C), with good ventilation. Stir thoroughly, tip into a shallow tray and apply two coats using a short piled roller. Cut in using a paint brush, although this may result in reduced coverage. The second coat can be applied as soon as the first coat is dry (generally 6 hours) and should be applied within 24 hours. If more than 24 hours elapse, the first coat should be lightly abraded before the second coat is applied.
