Philippe Hollevout & Watco, A Colourful Story

Project details

We met with Philippe Hollevout, a renowned french painter, who specialises in frescos and murals. About 15 years ago, Philippe Hollevout created a mural to brighten up the area surrounding the School Jean Macé in the city of Roubaix. The city council now wish to extend this mural on to the pavement, in order to clearly signpost the proximity of the school. The vicinity of school needs to be made safe. The idea was to clearly signpost the danger areas in a fun way: feet, letters and drawings of all kinds. To revive this mural, the city council, once again, called upon Philippe Hollevout. After some research online it was he who decided to work with Watco.

Our solution

We recommended Watco Asphalt Paint for the following reasons:

  • Easy to apply by brush or roller
  • Unique formulation gives excellent resistance to UV and weathering
  • Suitable for light foot traffic
  • One coat application only to reduce the downtime in the area
  • Wide range of colours for consistency with the existing mural

Asphalt Paint is ideal for use on asphalt, concrete, brick or similar porous surfaces, indoors and outdoors. It is the ideal way to seal, protect and colour asphalt and similar surfaces. The thick, flexible coating is easy to apply by brush or roller and is available in eight attractive colours. It can be used in warehouses, walkways, car park bays, line marking, tennis courts, playgrounds etc. Watco Asphalt Paint can be applied on asphalt, concrete, brick, masonry and similar porous surfaces and most metals.
