Unique dustproofer, hardener and surface sealer combined
Watco Concrete Sealer Water Based seals and hardens new and old bare, porous concrete floors and screeds. It is micro-porous which allows the surface to breathe.
Watco Concrete Sealer Water Based contains a micronised acrylic which penetrates deep into porous surfaces to bind, harden and seal. The cross linking properties of the acrylic dries to form a surface film, providing a more stain resistant, easier to clean finish. The appearance can vary from low sheen to gloss depending upon the porosity of the substrate and the number of coats applied. It is quick and easy to apply and most suited for use in warehouses and production areas, or anywhere which would benefit from a penetrative, dustproof, virtually odourless sealer for medium trafficked areas.
Concrete Sealer Water Based is also available in a light grey finish, which both seals and tints the floor at the same time. Concrete Sealer Water Based is breathable, virtually solvent free and safe for use in confined areas. It has an A+ VOC emissions rating with a very low VOC content.

Bare concrete – a good sweep and/or vacuum is often sufficient on a dusty surface. For the removal of dirt, light oil and grease we recommend Watco Bio-D. Flush with clean water and allow the surface to dry. For heavier deposits, Watco Concroff, a very powerful degreaser, is recommended, again, flush with clean water and allow the surface to dry. Concrete Sealer Water Based must be applied to a dry surface, not wet, however, if any residual damp remains as a result of cleaning, this is acceptable. Avoid wetting very porous surfaces since they will absorb too much water.
New concrete – as a guide, new concrete should be left for 4 weeks to dry in the summer and six in the winter. Surface laitance should be removed by means of mechanical abrasion. If the surface is dirty, please clean as per the heading ‘Bare concrete’.
Priming – is not usually required, but for open textured, or very porous high suction surfaces, such as sand and cement, further coats may be required to seal the substrate and to provide a uniform finish. Do not use on very smooth or power floated concrete, instead use Watco Powerfloat Sealer.
Important – give the container a really good shake to disperse the pigment which may have settled during storage. Pour a small amount of Concrete Sealer Water Based directly onto the floor and spread using a soft broom or brush, working it into the floor. It is important to spread it reasonably evenly to avoid an uneven finish. If a stronger colour is required when using the tinted grey version, apply a second coat.
