High strength 100% solids epoxy resin adhesive primer
Watco Tack Coat is an epoxy resin adhesive primer for use before screeding with Watco Concrex® or before using Watco Concrex® Vertical.
Properties | An adhesive primer, used with Watco Concrex or before Watco Concrex Vertical grade, quick and easy to use. |
Surfaces | Floors, walls, ramps, steps. |
Interior or Exterior | Interior and exterior. |
Coverage | 1 or 6m². |
Recommended number of coats | 1 |
Pot time (hours) | 20 minutes maximum at 20°C when decanted into a shallow tray. Higher temperatures will reduce the pot life. |
Curing time | Watco Tack Coat should be sufficiently tacky to overlay after approximately 60 minutes at 15-20°C, but this will be extended to 3 hours at 5°C. |
Concrete - ensure surface is clean and free of all loose material. Watco Tack Coat may be applied over existing paint but all poorly bonded paint must be removed and well bonded paint roughened to provide a key. Check that there is no ice in the substrate.
Metal - remove any loose or flaking material and rust by wire brushing or disc grinding. Oil or grease should be removed with Watco Bio D and the metal allowed to dry. Watco Tack Coat should be applied immediately after cleaning and drying.
Pour the contents of the smaller tin into the larger tin and mix thoroughly with a wide bladed tool. When using the 6m² pack decant into a shallow tray. Do not leave mixed components in the tin - the product will quickly become unusable and the tin become hot. Use immediately, the pot life of the mixed components is 20 minutes maximum at 20ºC, less at higher temperatures.
Apply sparingly by roller or brush and allow to become ‘tacky’. Overlaying must be completed while the Watco Tack Coat is still tacky. This product should be applied above 10°C to ensure proper curing.
