For repairing and filling cracks in old asphalt and tarmac
Unsightly cracks in asphalt can lead to water ingress, erosion and accelerated deterioration of the surface. This rubberised bitumen based product makes crack repairs easy. Simply decant the liquid into a watering can (or any spouted can) and pour into the crack.

Cleaning tools | Use water and detergent if the product has not dried. Once dried, use white spirit |
Sweep or scrape out loose debris from the crack.
Mix well before use. Do not use in wet or cold (below 5°C) conditions. Damp or cold weather will delay the drying time. The crack should be reasonably dry, although a little dampness may be tolerated.
Cracks up to 3mm wide: Pour the Watco Asphalt Crack Filler into the cracks using a spouted jug. Alternatively a watering can may be used. Brush out to a thin film any surplus liquid which overflows the edges of the crack. Once the Watco Asphalt Crack Filler has dried, dust with very fine sand or cement to remove any residual tack.
Cracks 3mm - 25mm wide: Prime the sides of the crack with a brush coat of Watco Asphalt Crack Filler. Mix Watco Asphalt Crack Filler with damp sand to produce a slightly stiff mortar. Trowel into the crack and smooth off. Once the mortar is dry, dust with very fine sand or cement to remove any residual tack.
Drying times vary widely depending upon weather conditions and size of crack. Dry, warm conditions will accelerate drying. The product sets by evaporation of water. Damp, cold conditions will therefore delay drying. As a guide, approximately 2-4 hours should be allowed for cracks up to 3mm and 6-10 hours for cracks up to 25mm.
